A variety of sights to see,
including:
Mandeville: Located in the hills of Manchester 2000 feet above sea level. This height contributes to its cool climate which attracts many residents who have returned from living abroad. Christiana, some 900 feet higher and 13 miles northeast of Mandeville, is even cooler.
Black River :In the middle of the South Coast wonderland is the Black River, the longest river in Jamaica. Snug at the coast is the town of the same name, once a bustling seaport which exported logwood, sugar and honey. A spectacular strectch of beach lies between Savanna-la-Mar and Black River at the west end of the South Coast.
Y.S. Falls: At the headwaters of the river is the spectacular Y.S. Falls. The miniature paradise is well preserved in its natural state with a steep staircase-type waterfall descending 120 feet, it is one of the largest and most spectacular falls in Jamaica. | |
